Blood, sweat and tiers

The government has announced details of the new three tier system that will come into effect in when the four-week national lockdown across England ends on 2 December.

Tier 1 – Medium Alert: what it means for you

Tier 1 Hospitality

Restaurants, pubs, cafés, and other hospitality venues can be open. However, they must close by 11pm, with last orders at 10pm and provide table service.

NWCE are here to safely open your kitchen

We are currently offering a limited amount of free safety inspection to all kitchens and bars who need our help. This safety inspection will consist of our engineers coming out to your premises, checking over all your appliances and testing their safety. Our catering engineers will also be able to supply a free equipment condition report which can give you a more in-depth detail of your equipment.

Tier 2 – High Alert: what it means for you

tier 2 hospitaltyPubs and bars should close unless they are able to serve a substantial meal, restaurants can open but should be table service only. Alcohol can only be served with a substantial meal.

Venues should close by 11pm and take last orders at 10pm.

You can only go to these places with people from your household or support bubble unless you are able to sit outside, which you may be able to do with a maximum group of 6 people.

Nwce have a range of back bar equipment

Of course, if you do not have a fully functioning kitchen it can be hard to see how you can produce good food for your customers. But we have kitchen equipment which can make offering food seem like a breeze.

That includes foodservice equipment like sandwich and panini grills, electric countertop pizza ovens and soup kettles. All these appliances (and more) are available to buy outright from us. Our engineers will deliver it on the day of your choosing, and they can help install it if you wish.

If you are looking for something a little less permanent, then we also have an appliance rental scheme! So, if you’re looking to rent out an undercounter freezer or microwave oven on a month to month basis, we can set up a completely bespoke plan for your business.

Tier 3 – Very High Alert: what it means for you

tier 3 hospitality

Hospitality venues are closed, but can remain open for takeaway, drive through and delivery services.

Nwce can help with your takeaway requirements, offering anything from heated take away transportation bags to 24-hour breakdown repairs. We cover a wide range of equipment with highly skilled engineers and an extensive van stock.

We expect high demand for takeaways in tier 3 areas which means your equipment will be used heavily, more usage unfortunately means more breakdowns. So if your catering equipment, refrigeration equipment or ventilation fails just give us a call and we will be happy to help.
