Cleaning is one of the most important parts of your service, no matter what part of the catering industry. Our catering engineers Greater Manchester have had many repair call outs that all could’ve been prevented by a more throughout cleaning regime. So we have decided to create a small blog that include some of the best cleaning tips we’ve picked up in our years within the industry.
- The dishwasher
Your dishwasher/glasswasher is meant to keep things clean, but how can it do that if it’s dirty? Take some time to deep clean and sanitise your washers. This is to make sure they are as clean as they can be. And in turn your dishes/glasses will be as clean as possible. We would also suggest leaving the door slightly open after each use to reduce the levels of humidity. It will also reduce the chances of mold growing.
- The ovens
Your ovens need proper ventilation to be able to work correctly and efficiently. However, they won’t be able to do that if they aren’t clean. Take the oven shelves out and make sure to clean them separately to be able to remove as much grease and dirt as possible.
- The Fridges and freezers
We would suggest cleaning the interiors once a week, to get rid of any spillages and debris that could have built it. Don’t forget about the filters and condenser coils! They also need to be clean on a regular basis, around once a month.
- Surfaces and utensils
These need to be cleaned every single day! This is to make sure that there is no build up of bacteria and no chance of contamination.
