Ice machine services, repairs & installations
We offer a large selection of ice machines here at North West Catering Engineers, allowing you to keep cold items colder for longer! Whether you want one pre-installed in your refrigerator or prefer a stand-alone appliance, why not check out NWCE’s extensive collection?
Ice machines are made up of 4 main components; the evaporator, the condenser, the compressor and the throttle valve. The compressor is what compresses the water to a low temperature before transporting it to the condenser. This then condenses the water so that it is of high pressure. After this, the water is then drained out of the throttle valve to become low pressured again, before being turned to ice in the evaporator. This completes the refrigeration cycle to make ice.
There are a number of different makes and models of ice machines. The most common are freezer makers, portable makers, built-in and free-standing machines. Freezer makers are your most commonly seen ice machines, which are found most often in hotels and restaurants. Portable makers are the smallest and most portable, as well as them being the fastest on the market. However, water must be manually poured into it. Built-in makers are most often built into kitchens and fridges as a quick and cheaper way of getting ice.
