NWCE Foodservice Equipment Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary with Exciting Achievements and Future Plans:
We are thrilled to announce that we have reached our 10-year anniversary. Marking a decade of innovation, growth, and exceptional service in the catering equipment service and installation industry.
Founded by Ben Odling and Matthew Hopkinson on September 14, 2014. The company has grown from a small operation in a back bedroom to an industry powerhouse, with 85 dedicated team members and growing.
Ben and Matthew, who met through the industry, shared a vision of providing a personalised, engineer-led service. Their journey began with just one additional employee, and today, NWCE stands as a testament of hard work and dedication. Despite facing significant challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, government instability, and the cost-of-living crisis, NWCE has continued to thrive and expand.
- 2015: Secured the first major service partnership with AFE Group.
- 2016: Moved into the first dedicated office.
- 2018: Expanded to offer national coverage.
- 2019: Acquired current head office, boasting a 12,000 square foot warehousing facility.
- 2020 / 2021 / 2022: Celebrated as Catering Insight Award winners.
- 2024: Honoured with a CEDA Grand Prix Award for design and project.
A pivotal moment in NWCE’s history was also appointment of Peter Overton as a non-executive director in 2018. Peter brought over 35 years of invaluable experience to mentor Ben from being an engineer into a Managing Director role. In 2022, industry specialists Nick Brassett and Lyndon Moorby, with a combined 70 years of expertise, joined the board, along with Lisa Odling, who has played a crucial role in operational support and business strategy.
NWCE has also taken significant strides in training and development. Partnering with CEDA for an apprentice scheme and leading the charge in fostering new talent in the catering equipment engineering field.
Reflecting on the journey, Ben Odling, MD, remarked, “One of the key lessons we’ve learned is not to put all our eggs in one basket. We now serve a diverse range of clients across various sectors, including hospitality, education, and facilities management to name a few. We’ve invested heavily in our infrastructure and innovated in what we offer our partners. Offering an honest and reliable service which our clients can trust.”
